Dear Parents/Carers,

I’ve heard Year 6 have been having a wonderful time at Springhead, enjoying some glorious weather and in a beautiful setting. I’m sure the Year 6 parents will hear many stories over the weekend about their adventures!

Ugly Bug Ball

Reception have had a fabulous day dressed as insects for their Ugly Bug Ball. Have a look at some of their lovely costumes on our Facebook page:

https://www.facebook.com/stjohnsprimaryknaphill

This was a fun way to kick start their learning this half term on minibeasts. Caterpillars have arrived in class and the children will watch them grow and change and talk about the metamorphosis they go through.

Swimming

Please ensure your child has their swimming kit with them each day that they are due to swim (no bikinis and no board shorts).
Already a lot of swimming kit is getting misplaced. Kindly check that your child has their swimming kit and not someone else’s when you collect at pick-up time. Please name all items.

If you haven’t yet contributed towards the cost of the swimming lessons please do so, we can only afford to keep the pool running with your assistance.

Casa Club

Please remember that they will be offering taster sessions in school on the dates below:

24th June
1st July
8th July

Parents are welcome to drop into these free sessions to meet the staff and ask any questions. These sessions are bookable via their website bookings@casaclubs.co.uk

Box Appeal

When is a box not a box? When it’s a bus, a train, a boat or a house- in fact anything a child’s  imagination wants it to be! Little Bears will be having a day of ‘Box Play’ later this month and are asking for donations of large empty cardboard boxes. If you can help please drop the boxes off at the School Office

PTA Danceathon

Our lovely PTA have been working hard to organise this fabulous event, but unfortunately the response has been really disappointing. If your child would like to take part please return the reply slip to let us know by 3pm on Monday 13th June. We need to know numbers by then as if we are unable to cover our costs the Danceathon will be cancelled. The letter that was sent home with all the event details (and the reply slip) is attached.

Surrey Youth Games

Next Saturday (18th June) the Surrey Youth Games will be taking place in Guildford. This event is free to attend and there will be lots of fun activities for children to try their hand at including circus skills, Archery and kick boxing. See the attached flyer for more details.
